Everything is about balance. Being too acidic or too alkaline is not healthy. Cancer lives in acidic, so being more alkaline than acidic should be the goal. A healthy balance is the best for all of us. You can search the internet and find thousands of food charts that list alkaline/acidic foods. It isnt about not eating a certain food group, it is about eating a healthy balance.
First choose an acidic food, in general this will be a protein, meat, cheese, etc. Now look at how much of your plate that protein takes up. You will need to now fill your plate with 3 times as much alkalining foods (dark veggies) as there is protein. So, if you have 4 ounces of meat, you need 12 ounces of veggies and or salad to balance the acidic digestive acid that meat will produce in the body.
It isnt all that hard, think about a burger or steak on the plate. Now add some green beans, and a mixed salad, and a whole grain bun or roll and you have basically covered what you need to allow your body to stay more alkalkine.
If you buy pH testing strips, your saliva should average over 7 days approximately 6.4 on the pH scale. Dont worry if it rises and falls day to day or through out the day, as this is normal.
