Response from US Senator Ron Johnson on FDA Regulation of Supplements PLEASE CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES NOW!!!!!

Date published: November 21st, 2011

Dear Amy,

Thank you for taking the time to write me regarding your concerns about the labeling and regulation of dietary supplements by the Food and Drug Administration.

The Dietary Supplement Labeling Act of 2011 was introduced by Senator Richard Durbin on June 30, 2011, to require the makers of supplements to revise their labeling and register their products with the Food and Drug Administration. The bill currently awaits consideration on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, of which I am not a member. Should this bill come to the Senate floor for a vote, I will certainly keep your views in mind.
This bill would affect consumers’ access to supplements and increase the cost and scope of federal regulations. Under current law, manufacturers decide whether a product is classified as a food or as a dietary supplement. This bill would pass that authority to the Food and Drug Administration and begin regulating supplements as if they were drugs. This would invariably increase the size and cost of government. It would also increase the cost and lead to the elimination of many products that people use safely every day.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. It is important for me to hear the views and concerns of the people I serve. Since taking office, I have received over 300,000 pieces of correspondence and have had over 130,000 people participate in live forums and telephone town hall meetings. Please feel free to contact me in the future if I can further assist you or your family. It is an honor representing you and the good people of Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate.

Sincerely,

Ron Johnson
United States Senator

Tamanu Oil

Date published: November 19th, 2011

Tamanu Oil contains a plethora of anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory constituents. The oil encourages new cell regeneration improving unsightly stretch marks and transforming dull, blemished skin anew. An anti-aging cocktail, tamanu oil markedly decreases wrinkles and prevents moisture loss. Pure, undulterated tamanu oil is the perfect anti-aging. Fine lines disappear within seconds of application. This rare oil is anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory – 100% Natural.

Tamanu’s Healing Powers

Tamanu oil possesses a unique capacity to promote the formation of new tissue, thereby accelerating wound healing and the growth of healthy skin. In Pacific island folk medicine, tamanu oil is applied liberally to cuts, scrapes, burns, insect bites and stings, abrasions, acne and acne scars, psoriasis, diabetic sores, anal fissures, sunburn, dry or scaly skin, blisters, eczema, herpes sores, and to reduce foot and body odor. Tamanu oil is also massaged into the skin to relieve neuralgia, rheumatism and sciatica. Tamanu oil is employed by Polynesian women for promoting healthy, clear, blemish-free skin, and is also used on babies to prevent diaper rash and skin eruptions.

Traditionally, natives hand-gathered the fruit of only the coastal tamanu trees, for those fruits yielded the highest quality of oil. Following traditional practice, to make True Tamanu, the nuts inside the coastal fruits are hand-cracked and the nut kernels are sun-dried until golden brown. The nut kernels are cold-pressed, without heat or chemicals of any kind. The resulting pure True Tamanu oil is rich, dark green, luxurious, and considered the finest tamanu oil in the world.

Nature’s Miracle Skin Oil

As early as 1918, French researchers investigated the unique topical benefits of tamanu oil. Traditionally, the oil has been used by Pacific islanders on cuts, sores, burns, blemishes, rashes, bites, and stings. The oil contains novel inflammation modulators and anti-microbial compounds and promotes the formation of new, healthy skin tissue. True Tamanu carries forward the traditional uses of this remarkable oil to modern times.
