Brenda asks, “What do you recommend for dealing with severe constipation? I have tried just about everything under the sun and a friend recommend aloe vera tablets. I read your blog about constipation associated with menstrual cycles, but mine is constant.”
Constipation that is chronic, meaning that it is more than once or twice a week that the bowel is not emptied can have many causes.
Eating a diet that consisted of whole, real food, and is balanced with fruit in the morning and vegetables in the afternoon, each meal containing a good balance of protein is recommended.
A slow bowel means a couple of things. Your bowel does not have the correct balance of flora. I recommend taking a probiotic either with each meal, or I also have a few that are a once per day. This will help to bring a better balance of flora to the bowels.
Candida is a naturally occuring fungus that lives in our bowel. It is harmless unless it gets out of control. Many people that have a few symptoms dont realize they even have a candida over growth. Here are a few of the symptoms to watch for:
irritable bowel – too slow or too fast
bloating in the stomach or bowel area, especially after eating.
mucousy stools
foggy brain, hard to concentrate, dull headaches.
Itchy skin anywhere on the body, some people see a rash, sometimes it has raised white heads and is surrounded by red rash.
Achy joints
fatigue, lack of normal energy
craving for sugars and empty carbs
white tongue, fuzzy looking, thick saliva
Acne that you cant clear up
difficulty losing weight
If you see yourself in this list you need to come see me at B Natural and get on a protocol to kill the over growth of candida and stop feeding it. Then balance the bowel.
The other very common reason for a slow bowel that has been slow for quite some time is a lack of magnesium. People that are magnesium decificient can also have the following symptoms:
muscle spasms or charlie horses
high blood pressure or irregular heart beat
hard time sleeping
stressy personality
sore muscles
restless leg syndrome
Add about 250-500 mg of our Mag Relax powder at bedtime and see the difference within a week!
Let me know if this helps!
